Doubt Vs. Faith

Doubt- lack of confidence in something or someone. Or to have Uncertainty about something.

This can be considered part a part of everyone’s life at some point. Whether it is something big you’re having to trust someone else for or something small you’ve i’m sure realized that you can’t do everything in life alone.  Yes that means others will let you down at times. B/c they are human but if you tried to do everything by yourself it would turn out mediocre instead of incredible.  Not only are we called to trust other people but we it is necessary to trust God.  He loves us and wants only what’s best for us why would he give us anything else?

Jesus says in Matt 21:21-22 ~ I tell you the truth if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree (earlier in the passage) but you can also say to that mountain “go throw yourself into the sea” and it will be done. If you believe you will receive whatever you ask.

Jesus is basically telling the disciples they can pray for anything. The stronger our belief the more likely our prayers will be line with God’s will and then God will be happy to grant them. Just like if a child is obedient to his parents and asks for something that is good for him then the parents would be pleased to grant his request and make the child happy.
