Sucked into the holidays

Now that Christmas is over I’ve had time to mull over the past month with all the craziness of what society has deemed “the christmas season”. It all starts in novemeber with Black friday and when I was working at Belk thats when I told myself I would never work retail again! shortly after Q99 starts playing christmas carols nonstop and it wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t play the same ones over and over again. There are so many talented song artists I don’t know why we resort to playing the same songs. But thats another soapbox for another day :). Then the bell ringers from salvation army raising money at every entrance to the mall. Don’t forget pictures with santa and the train rides to keep your kids happy while you shop. Dickens of a Christmas, the free performance of Scrooge decorated christmas trees at hotel roanoke. Endless amounts of christmas cookies, Tacky sweater parties and white elephant parties, office parties (the only time of year you see their families). Christmas movies with family and friends gathered near. SNOW covering the ground, but as we remember this past year whether it was a good one or a bad one remember that Christ is the reason we celebrate Christmas. He came as a baby and we celebrate his birth. God as a man humbling himself for us. Without his sacrifice we are separated from him.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pn10FF-FQfs
