Holidays

I was thinking today about Easter, by the way it’s tomorrow buy your candy after (it’s cheaper), there is so much hype around both Christmas and easter. Christmas is all about Santa and his elves building and delivering toys to good girls and boys christmas eve, and a christmas tree and lights, parties and decorations. But the reality is that the main reason to celebrate Christmas is the birth of Jesus Christ. God’s only son.
Considering it’s March I didn’t come to write about Christmas but rather Easter. Easter is known for cute bunny rabbits, Candy, easter egg hunts, more candy and hyper children. But again those reasons should be secondary to celebrating the freedom we have in Christ. Lets think about it for a minute, Easter is a better holiday than Christmas. Yeah sure Jesus was born on Christmas but Caesar was also born and we don’t celebrate his birthday as a renown holiday. Caesar also died but we don’t celebrate his death either. We celebrate Jesus’ death because with his death come his Resurrection and victory over death. We are celebrating the freedom He has bestowed on us. My auesome friend megan posted on facebook Matthew 27:24,25
“When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. “I am innocent of this man’s blood,” he said. “It is your responsibility!” All the people answered, “His blood is on us and on our children!”
Those who wanted Jesus crucified accepted their part in his death but I find it so cool that it is through his blood that we are forgiven! idk It boggles my mind. and with that Happy Easter!
